Manipulation step by step tutorial by `azurylipfe
· Alright gona make a tut how i make a manipulation:) i hope i don't confuse you to much because you have to follow how i make a new one :D so with all the jumps back and forwards :d
· Open the stock image you want, i choose again one from Tw1stedTruth_stock
· Take your lassotool and cut the image out ( for this i could recommend Staldrens tutorial for the nexts steps:) he can explain it better then I could:) )
· Set your background layer on rasterlayer, go to selection- invert and click on delet, now your background is gone and the only thing left is the image of the personage:)
· Remove the selection. zoom your photo in untill 300%
· Go to your smudgetool settings about size 22 hardness 11 step 1 density 100, thickness 100 rotation doesn't really matter because you use a round brush, and opacity between 65 -73
· Smudge every pixel smooth.. in the area of the eyes , resize the size of your brush from 22 to 11 and the opacity may higher about 80-85 because that may be a little more accentueted:).
· When you are smudgen, once and awhile take a look at the original size and even smaller to look at it , and then if you think its fine, resize it again till 200 or 300 %
· This take the most time of the whole manipulation... for me :D don't know about others :d
· Allright first part is done. Add a new layer and put that one behind the lady or men or whatever you are using:)and fill it with a black color
· Add another layer. Choose a sky pic ( i choosed one of the pink skys from my own stock, select 2/3 or 1-2 of your background and go to edit> paste into selection
· Now chose a waterpic cut of the horizon of a sea or if you have it a mask from a sea, use the flaming pear filter flood, take that:)
· Invert the selection , add a new layer and paste that one in that selection.
· Take your removel tool and set the density on 53 and the opacity on 38 and slightly remove some from the bottom of the sky and the sea, but still make that they are blending
· Select a little part from the waves and copie that, add a new layer above the lady and paste it into the same selection
· It could be that you have to make the lady a bit smaller,if so, just resize her untill 70 %
· Use your removel tool again and take little clicks to remove the waves before her where you want it to be removed:) don't keep the right button in, because that take away to much in once, just click fast while moving ( i can't exactly say how, because that is a bit to difficult to explain:)
· If you are happy with the result , go back to your sky layer
· Select a little rectangle ( you can set feather on 20 or 30 % but its not neccesairy:) ) behind the lady, go to selections - invert and make a new layer and fill that one with a bronze gradient, remove the selection and dupplicate that layer and set them both on overlay 100%, and that part looks a bit more gold :D
· Select that rectangle go to effects - dropshadow and settings 2 -2 -100- 2
· Mostly add this point i add a new layer and fill that one with black and put a bordermask on it, so i can see the contrast between the manipulation and the border ,and it gives me the inspiration how to go further:) allright:) moving on :D
· Go to the layer with the lady , put that layer on luminancy 100%, dupplicate that layer and set that one on overlay 50 %, dupplicate that one again and put it on normal 55 %.. why i do this, i have no idea , but i have the illusion that the pic becomes more soft, but like i said its an illusion i have lol
· Go to the layer under the border if you added one to, otherwise just the top layer:) and add a new layer and fill it with a gradient, you have to take one in the color you want the pic to have, i choose a blue gradient, and set it on color (legacy) 48%
· And now its the easy part, its just adding brushes on the places you want:) i added the treebrushes at the borders, a moon behing the trees , some birds, some little tricks..
· For a kind of rainbowish look , you have a few options:) the best option is of course the filter mystical> rainbow:) second options isn't a filter but don't give the same good result , but it works:)
· Choose a gradient, select a cirkel or freehand shape feather on 30-40 or 50 and more, fill it, and go to adjust> blur > gaussian blur > settings about 50 , you get the same cloud that mystical creates but only one color, set that layer on overlay, and do this with different colors on different layers, next or on top top of the previous, and play with overlay , soft light and set it on 30-45 % then you can get almost the same result, but its a bit experimenting for the same result:)
· Second options , is take your pensil, set in big in size , about 90 draw a stroke in gradiant color, take another color, draw a line next to the previous one, and do that about 4 times or so, then again, adjust- blur, gaussian blur, settings about 50-60-70 and set it on soft light:) and you have a rainbowish look in you manipulation :)..
· The mystical filter is fun to use but easy :D the other methods are a bit more challenging :D but also fun :D
